After School Activities
Together with people from the community, UBUNTU offers several after school programs. This benefits the children by getting exposed to different subjects and could help them later in life.
This class is taught by mama Happy, she is a mom of three and has two daughters in Seganyane school. The children learn the basics of sewing. Projects to date include making clothing for dolls and repairing clothes of children in school.
This class is taught by Mr. Julius Letsoalo, he is a Board member of UBUNTU-Mundo and a teacher at school. He has a passion of transferring his skills to the children. The children learn about tools and how to use them. Projects to date include repairing school furniture and doors.
This class was taught by mama Rulo, she is retiring by the end of the year and currently we are looking for a new person. To stay connected with their culture, traditional dance was taught to the he children. To expose them to a new dance Zumba was introduced.
The first art class was taught by Cecilya Bravo. Art is very important as children use both the left and right brain. During this class children were taught the basics about making a painting. Six children together made a painting of Nelson Mandela. Below you can see the process.
